Syzygy Photography

Welcome to Syzygy Photography.

I've been taking photographs as a hobby for years, mostly concentrating on panoramas. I like trying to capture what it's like to actually be somewhere.

Panoramas let me get a wider field of view, capturing more of the sense of being embedded in the scene. They also let me make larger prints than I otherwise could.

I'm developing more of an interest in photographing people. I prefer little to no makeup, relaxed expressions, with subjects comfortable in the environment. I like smiles with little or no teeth. Coming from landscapes, I tend towards available light, but I'd like to experiment with interesting lighting. Tonal range on skin fascinates me. I like side-lit goosebumps.
